In this section, I want to share all my documentation about the process and conceptualization of the “Ganryu-Jima Island Level”
I was looking to conceptualize a small level related to a few of my passions and hobbies, such as reading manga, medieval fantasy ambience, Samurais stories, Japanese mythology and folklore and RPG, difficult, souls-like games genre. That’s why I want to share a One Page Game Design Document (OPGDD) and a detailed High Concept Document (HCD) to be able to show all the steps and the process I follow to always have a deep understanding and knowledge about how everything it will works because I think its really important to have a better idea and a well-documented structure before starting the production of any project.
To have some context before the documentation, this level is set in the famous manga and based on real events "Vagabond" which tells the story of the great samurai-ronin, Miyamoto Musashi, this conceptualization is a tribute to making playable the mythical place where the legendary battle between Miyamoto Musashi and his friend and to the Rival pair Sasaki Kojiro took place.
