Ancient Kingdoms

I am collaborating with Ancient Pixels on the development process of Ancient Kingdoms, working on different aspects of Game Design. Ancient Kingdoms has already been in development for five years and is set to have an early access release this year on Steam. It has also had participation and a great reception at the Steam Next Fest in October 2024

As a true enthusiast of the RPG-MMORPG genre, I'm aware of what the player feels, wants, and expects, also being an active player helps me to know and understand the new trends, know which mechanics and kinds of content are fun, and which ones are boring or dislikes the most to the majority of the players, also It helps me to have a big scope of knowledge about Single players, Multiplayer, MMO’S and PvE-PvP content at the games.

My Role in Ancient Kingdoms

My main role in Ancient Kingdoms is that of game designer, among various functions I specialize in conceptualization, development and implementation of content and gameplay. Also lm in charge of helping the theam with market research process, possible targets, social media, statistics, game analysis and roadmap management.

In the pure scope of gameplay and system design, I am in charge of introducing and improving mechanics, statistics/attributes, skills, combat system, difficulty curve, pacing and accessibility. Also, I like to design the player interface in the most intuitive, visible, informative, and least chaotic way possible. In this genre, we are accustomed to an excess of information in the interface, which frustrates the player and leads to poor information retention.

In Ancient Kingdoms, you have the opportunity to play alone, or even with a 4 group of friends, that’s why I put all my effort into designing all the content well-balanced for all kinds of players, for the ones who want to have a Single Player experience and for the ones who prefer to play with friends.

Next, I want to show you 5 minutes of pure Gameplay I did myself, with the race Human and the Warrior’s class, showcasing different locations, testing different skills, combat, boss fights, hunting, loot system and more.
